National Board

The National Board is responsible for the overall direction of the MBAAI. Board members strive to deliver real value and learning for our members through a range of initiatives. In addition, they are responsible for the delivery of a number of events throughout the year.

Current Board

President – Michelle Gallagher

Michelle holds an MBA from the University of Limerick, Kemmy Business School, which she completed in 2017. She is the CEO of Limerick Chamber, the leading voice for Business in the Mid-West region.

Finance Director – Mark O’Connor

Mark is a Chartered Accountant (ACA). He is the Group Head of Treasury & Strategic Finance at Fexaco. He completed his MBA at Henley Business School in 2015.

Secretary – Maria Barry

Maria holds an MBA from Smurfit Business School. She is Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Manager with the Health Service Executive (HSE).

I.T. Director – Owen Murphy

An MBA alumnus of Trinity Business School (2019), Owen is co-founder and director of Protego Technologies Ltd., a software development organisation providing financial technology services.

Membership Director – Alisa Timis 

Alisa is an Actuary & Director at Adelphi Actuarial. She completed her MBA from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in 2021.

Past President (2021-2023) & Board member – Michael Bulman

Michael is the Alliances and Partnership Development Manager for Kyndryl Ireland. He studied with the Open University and completed his MBA with Dublin City University in 2018. Michael previously served as President and Membership Director of the Association.

Southern Chapter Director – Jerry Crowley

Jerry is Marketing Manager for Johnson & Perrott Motor Dealerships. He is responsible for all marketing activities for ten leading car franchises as well as four dealerships across Cork City. Jerry completed his MBA at the University of Limerick in 2016.

Western Chapter Director – Sandra Grogan

Sandra holds an MBA from the University of Galway, which she completed in 2023, and joins the board to launch a new chapter in the west of Ireland. She is a Senior Manager in Programme Management with Boston Scientific.

Mid-Western Chapter Director – Miriam McCarthy

Miriam is the Health Sciences Academy Manager at University of Limerick & UL Hospitals Group. She completed her MBA in 2024 from the University of Limerick.

Northern Chapter Director – John 

John is Director Data & AI at EY specialising in Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality. He obtained his MBA from Queens University Belfast in 2023.
