Professor Anderson is Professor of Management Learning (Emeritus) at the University of Liverpool Management School, UK, with extensive experience in executive management education. The event is kindly funded through SATLE to facilitate keynote seminars in management teaching, learning and innovation.

A Love Letter to Executive Management Education.

In the current climate of mistrust of universities and the rejection of expert knowledge, I argue that management education has the potential to enable senior managers to flourish and genuinely benefit the communities and stakeholders they serve. I present findings and accounts from a study of 25 DBA graduates, all practicing senior managers, that offers insights into how they developed through a process in which scholarship and practice exert a mutual influence on each other.

The masterclass will give participants an opportunity to reflect on how they use research, evidence or scholarship in their own practice and what it means to have studied for a higher degree in a business school.

This event is open to MBAAI members and students, who may bring a guest.
