Event Details

The Association’s Mid-West chapter is pleased to announce a breakfast event at the University of Limerick on Wednesday, 25th February 2026 from 7.30am, which will explore negotiation as a core leadership skill used every day — in business, teams, careers, and complex conversations.
In this session, Dr Ann Torres, Associate Professor in Marketing at the University of Galway, will share practical insights into how negotiations really work, how to navigate differing perspectives, and how to move conversations toward mutually beneficial outcomes. Whether you’re early in your career or an experienced professional, this event is designed to be relevant, accessible, and useful — no prior negotiation experience required.

Ann’s research interests are situated in the convergence of strategy, entrepreneurship and innovative marketing practices. Her interest in negotiating theory and mediation adds an additional dimension to these topics. With respect to her publications, she is recognised as an accomplished writer, earning more than a dozen awards for her work. Ann obtained an MBA from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley and her PhD from Trinity College Dublin.

The session will be moderated by Dr Conor Carroll, Associate Professor, Department of Management & Marketing at the University of Limerick.

This event is open to MBAAI members, students and graduates and offers a great opportunity to build skills that apply across industries, roles, and career stages.
