The Association’s Southern Chapter is delighted to host a breakfast event at the UCC Centre for Executive Education at Lapps Quay, Cork at 8am on 27th February 2025 with MBA Adjunct Professor Alf Smiddy speaking on the topic of leadership. 

A Chartered Accountant, who trained with PwC, Alf Smiddy is former Chairman and Managing Director of Beamish & Crawford plc., a Board member of its parent company, Scottish & Newcastle (UK) Ltd., a member of the National Executive Council of IBEC, Director of Cork Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Cork Local Government Committee and a Board member of Cork Airport Authority. A Fellow of the Irish Marketing Institute, he is a Commerce graduate from UCC, with a Masters in Executive Leadership from Boston College and the University of Ulster.

Alf was appointed as Adjunct Professor at the College of Business and Law, UCC in 2021. His directorships include the Government-backed Rethink Ireland (Social Innovation), Oxfam Ireland and various independent companies including Bridgewater Construction, Fohntech and Granite Digital. He previously served as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director and Director with designated responsibility for workforce engagement at The Dalata Hotel Group plc.
